Telling A Girl You Like Her - Ways To Tell A Girl You Like Her

4 comments - Post a comment

Telling a girl that you like her is something that the most macho of men fear. Of course, emotions can take over your logic & your actions as well. No matter what, you must be prepared mentally before you do anything at all.

Why not we start with some ways that totally will not work! Email, instant messenger, phone, letters, teddy bears, etc, these will not work. In this special case, you are about to express an important message to the woman you like, you must tell her face to face.

Never even attempt to ask her if she likes you! That is still not the worse thing you can ask. There was a friend of mine who asked a girl if he could kiss her! That really cracked me up! Can you imagine that?....

Now, put yourself in a woman's shoes, if you ask such dumb questions, how can she answer you? If she says yes to you, she will appear too cheap but if she really does like you & does not want to reject you, how is she supposed to tell you?

This is usually followed by the sound of silence..... An awkward silence between a man & a woman is what you do not want to experience for yourself.

It is no secret that women are attracted by the confidence of a man. Confidence only shows that a man is totally secure with himself which is really attractive to a woman. Those questions above will only make you look pathetic in front of her.

Do not ask too much or say too much, just bring your relationship to the next level, she will flow with you, if she likes you too.

Now for the most important part, how to tell her.....

- Your delivery method, the way you communicate with her, is even be more important than what you are about to tell her, especially in this special case.

- You must be at least 70% sure that she is also likes you before you tell her, you must tell her at the right time.

- Ambience is very important, especially to women, make sure it is a nice, romantic place.

Whatever happens next, just remember it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.

Creating a Dialogue Through Constructive Conversations

No Comment - Post a comment

It is not the words spoken that affect relationships, but the impact of those words on our feelings. Every word spoken and every body movement influences our relationship. The words can be inspiring, motivating, or loving. Body movements can be a head nod of agreement or a hug. Words can also be biting, humiliating, or disparaging accompanied by such body movements as hands on the hips or crossed arms. Each one of these actions evokes an emotion. So what determines the type of reaction to words and body movements? It is the relationship between the sender and receiver of a message and the value of the relationship between the two. The value of a relationship is directly related to what can be gained or lost in the relationship. It could be love, money, power, information or the relationship itself.

A friend makes a sarcastic remark that is really bothersome. If addressed, it will lead to a heated discussion like the last time where hurtful words were exchanged. So as not to risk the loss or change in the relationship, nothing is said. Your boss tells you that your work on the project was less than expected. You say nothing because your merit raise is due and saying the wrong thing may jeopardize that raise which is desperately needed. A co-worker tells the project manager you were the reason the project was not completed on time. You choose not to address the co-worker because they have kept you in the information loop at work and you choose not to be out of that loop......

Each of these examples demonstrates some sort of value in keeping the present relationship intact. There is a fear that the relationship will change or be lost and the consequences of that change or loss is too great for whatever reason. Now, if we do not value a relationship (nothing to lose), we easily and quickly let our dissatisfaction be known. A co-worker that you do not respect gives you the stare. The salesperson acts like it is an effort to help you. Since there is nothing to be lost in these relationships, we say what is on our mind with no fear of consequences for speaking out or displaying a negative posture.

There is a price to pay, however, for not addressing negative messages in a valued relationship. That price is the relationship is going to change anyway, some day! Why you ask? As the number of negative incidences increases, there is a point that the tolerance for those incidences will decrease leading to one of two responses. Either we will explode which is the aggressive response or we will retreat from the relationship which is the passive response. Either way, the relationship is forever changed. Even if the change in the relationship is minute, it is never exactly the way it was.

So, how do we address destructive conversations and still preserve the valued relationship? We have constructive conversations! Constructive conversations have several tenets that need to be understood and implemented in order to disarm the negative and support the positive. The choices we make in our response to positive or negative conversations directly impact the relationship.

The first tenet is to have a critical conversation when we need to address situations that have a negative affect on our feelings. We know from the start that conversation is going to be difficult, but failure to address the situation is worse than not addressing it. Your significant other is always ridiculing you and if the situation is not addressed, there is going to be major fallout with collateral damage. The discussion that follows will be less painful than continuing to accept the ridicule. Having a critical conversation is a comparative ratio of having or not having the conversation, but not having it can lead to physical ramifications such as stress, insomnia, or loss of appetite. There can also be emotional ramification such as depression, anger, or feeling a loss of control.

The second tenet for a constructive conversation requires us to choose words and a body stance that are neutral allowing us to give and get information rather than attitude. Instead of using words that are inflammatory in a tone an octave higher than normal, with crossed arms and eyebrows close to your hair line, start the conversation with, "There is something that I need to tell you and I hope you will hear me so we can discuss this with out yelling at each other". This opening statement sets the stage and the expectation for having a conversation rather than an argument. If the situation starts to get out of hand, stop it by saying, "I thought we agreed not to yell at each other." If this does not help, you might have to say, "We are not getting anywhere with this, so maybe we need to stop here and come back to it later."

Sometimes conversation become so difficult and emotional for both parties that a "time out" is needed to re-group, re-think and re-feel what is really going on. There are occasions that the issue seems clear, but there are occasions where there is an underlying issue that is being disguised. Depending on the situation being discussed and the relationship between the two, time way from the issue or one another is needed. Time is sometimes the best healer.

Another key tenet to having a constructive conversation is to understand how to manage anger. Angry is a reaction when either an expectation was not met or there was something they did not get! A person that is angry wants two things; 1) to know they are being heard and 2) something is going to be done about it. In a valued relationship, disarming anger occurs when clues are given that we hear and understand (not necessarily agree) and we indicate that we are willing to do something to meet the need or expectation. Keep it positive. Do not list what cannot be done and reason for not being able to do them. Offer ideas or solutions that will help the situation no matter how small; it is the effort that will be appreciated.

The essence of constructive conversations is to remember what part we play in the relationship. We may not be the silent partner. It might be our tone or our body movements that is affecting the relationship. Don't be afraid to admit it!

Relationships are like algebraic equations; what happens on one side affects the other. We know that stuff happens to us all-day. Here is how the chain goes when bad stuff happens. Our attitude sets our emotions that directly affect our responses to others and in turn affects their responses us. Therefore, we have to be in tuned to what we are giving off. Only we can control our choice of responses to people and situations.

When we react negatively to others, we hand over our control or power because we are allowing others to affect our feelings and responses. We virtual hand over ourselves and say manipulate me. Max Depree, noted author, said, "We cannot become what we need to be by remaining what we are." If we are in a negative space having destructive conversations, we have to come out of that space to become someone else. Someone who understands the dynamics of the present situation, someone who can orchestrate their environment and make changes for the good, and someone that is willing to put out the effort for change to occur.

Regardless of what side of the algebraic equation we find ourselves, we alone have the capacity to change destructive conversations into constructive ones by following the tenets that support a positive healthy relationship. See, it really is about saving the relationship. Good Luck!

How To Meet Someone At The Grocery Store

1 comments - Post a comment

“You know, it's dangerous for you to be here in the frozen food section. You could melt all this stuff.” --Steve Martin in “My Blue Heaven”

Funny thing about today’s topic. The concept is one of the oldest, most overwrought stereotypes in the dating world. Yet, how many people (other than Vinnie) do you know who actually have met someone at the grocery store? Have you?

Would you like to?

As promised, today we’re going to talk all about how to turn the local supermarket into your dating playground…or at least potentially.

And it’s easier than you think.

No, this isn’t necessarily about “bumping carts” with someone “by accident”. Rest assured there are much better strategies in store than that (pun intended). So, then, let’s get on with it!

1) Inline Flirting

This is the simplest concept, yet completely overlooked by so many. Basically, if you want to meet someone, form your checkout plan with some strategy, will you? Simply get in line behind someone you want to meet, pick up the tabloid in front of you and make conversation about it. For some odd reason, this is like magic when performed by a guy. Women seem to be entranced by that sort of thing, and to have a guy actually start a conversation about it really is irresistible to a woman. And don’t completely rule out flirting with the one who is behind the register, either. One of life’s joys for me is when a woman at a cash register asks me for my credit card or (God help her) my phone number. Whichever it is, it’s “way too soon in the relationship for that” or “I don’t know you well enough”. Believe it or not, my fiancée Emily still deals with this sort of banter out of me regularly…and still giggles when it happens.

2) Have You Tried This?

Step One: Position yourself considering the same shelf full of items as someone you want to meet.
Step Two: Find a particularly interesting product.
Step Three: Ask, “Have you tried this?”
Step four: Expect a one-word answer.
Step Five: Respond by briefly describing some creative use you might have for it.
Step Six: Continue conversation with intrigued new friend.
Step Seven: Etc…

3) Veggie Tales

This is really a variation on the second bullet point above, but I want to make sure everyone understands how virtually foolproof it is to start a conversation. Hit the produce section. Find someone you want to meet. Ask either: 1) “What’s the best way to pick one of these?” or 2) “Do you have any secrets for cooking these?” People love being asked for expert advice. Men love doing so because, well, we’re men, and women will find it endearing that a guy is interested in cooking. Don’t act helpless here guys, just interested.

4) Bean Stalk

This one is my personal favorite, and the true “secret” of this article. At a grocery store you have a perfect scenario for meeting someone that is built in by design. Everyone goes up one aisle and down the other when they are there on serious business. If you notice someone you would like to meet is doing a week’s worth of shopping like you are, simply (and this is about as simple as it gets) start at the opposite end of the aisle as they are, but work the aisles in the same order. In doing so, you will pass this person every single time you go to the next aisle. Hopefully you get what I’m talking about here without me having to draw a diagram, because I’m lousy at that. Maybe you’ll completely ignore the person on the first aisle. On the second aisle, possibly some eye contact and a smile. On the third aisle (exactly), stop and say, “Look, I barely know you and you are already stalking me.” Another perfectly good option is to ask, “So are you going to follow me around all day or are you going to introduce yourself?” Be sure to laugh (or at least smile) after you say this so as to make it perfectly clear you are kidding. Either way, playing upon the fact that the other person is already interested in you is almost always effective. From there, make a friend.

5) Timing

I would plan my supermarket ventures in the early evening (after work) or on a Saturday in the late morning to early afternoon time frame. Consider the demographics involved and it’s easy to understand how the ratios of single people are going to be better then. This isn’t to say that it’s impossible to meet people during the day on Tuesday, but the odds aren’t quite as good.

If you are a “night person”, try shopping at 2 am if you have a 24-hour supermarket. You might meet your soulmate. He or she is probably stocking shelves.

Here’s a quick note regarding what not to do. Ever notice that you don’t seem to get the choice of “paper or plastic” anymore? Just because all the bags are “plastic” doesn’t mean YOU have to be. One of the major scenarios to avoid is trying to be too, um…”overly helpful”. Guys please don’t chase women around the parking lot offering to “load their groceries” or even to return their cart for them. You might as well pour the milk you just bought onto some toast and contemplate how that relates to this situation.

That said, starting conversation at the supermarket really is incredibly easy. Once you try it, you’ll wonder what took you so long. All too often we limit ourselves by thinking that bars, clubs and other “designated” places are the only “appropriate” venues for meeting someone. The truth is you are more likely to meet a high quality human being and have a great conversation with him or her when you both are in your “natural habitat” and free of loud noises and obnoxious distractions (e.g. a hundred other people trying to “pick up” someone).

An informal poll I’ve taken suggests that most single adults would truly enjoy being approached with interest at the grocery store or similar shopping situation. So, how about giving it a try this week?

By all means, send me your “success stories”.

How To Start A Conversation With An Attractive Stranger

9 comments - Post a comment

For many people, starting a conversation with a stranger is an intimidating task. But for you, after reading this article, it will be a breeze.

The best beginning for the conversation is, "Hi".
(I am sure you can master that!)

The second step is to introduce yourself, "Hi, I am Jim."
(Not too tricky, is it?)

Then it goes depending on circumstances.
The three most popular and foolproof conversation-starters are:

- Make a comment about the surroundings;
- Enquire about something unusual in their appearance;
- Ask for a comment from a woman’s/man’s point of view.

Let’s talk about those conversation-starters in more detail.

1. Making a comment about the SURROUNDINGS.

This is the safest and universal conversation-starter. Wherever you are, something’s always happening around you. There are people, or cars, or queues, or something else. Even if there is nothing happening, you can make a comment about that! Use a bit of humor in your comment and most of the time you will get a favorable answer.

For example:

- Hi, what a chilly/hot day today (on a hot day, say it’s chilly, on a chilly day, say it’s hot -- it’s VERY funny). I see you are also shivering/sweating. By the way, my name is Jim. What is your name?

- Hi, you know, you look very pretty with these awesome roses as the backdrop. By the way, my name is Jim. What is your name?

- Hey, this queue doesn’t seem to be moving, does it? Since we are going to spend the next few hours here together, I guess I should introduce myself: I am Jim. What is your name?

2. Enquiring about something unusual in their appearance.

This requires some skill but after a while you will be able to pick up something in an instant. It can be a tattoo, a piece of jewelry, a handbag, or even an unusual color. People don’t buy things at random. They buy them and wear them because they LIKE them, or because they MEAN something to them. They have some pleasant emotion attached to it. If you mention this thing, you can tap into this pleasant emotion and they will consider your advances more favorably.

For example:

- Hi! I could not help but noticed this interesting ring. It isn’t an engagement ring, is it? If it is, I will have to end my life in a monastery. And by the way, my name is Jim.

- Hi, I was looking at your earrings; they are exactly what I was looking for, as a present for my sister. Where did you get them? And by the way, my name is Jim.

- Hi, I could not help but noticed the book you are reading, “Men are from Mars, women are from Venus”. So, what do you think about it? And by the way, my name is Jim.

3. Asking for a comment from a woman’s/man’s point of view.

This is my favorite!

For some mysterious reason, we just LOVE rendering our opinion as a woman/man. This is such a successful conversation-starter; you can use it anywhere, on anyone. Even 90-year-old grannies will be happy to answer your enquiries.

For example:

- Hi! I am Jim. My friend and I were talking about what women value the most in men they date, and could not agree. Could you please help us out with a woman’s opinion?

- Hi, I am Jill. My friend and I were talking about what men value the most in women they date, and could not agree. Could you please help us out with a man’s opinion?

- Etc, etc.

It doesn’t matter what you are asking about. The point is, we all understand that men and women think differently and we appreciate a thoughtful stranger who makes an effort to learn from the source.

That’s it!

You see, it’s not scary at all. Just go and try it - first on the people you don’t care about, and then on the people you like. You will see that men and women alike generally respond very positively to a friendly stranger.

Start with the service personnel at the shops and cafes. They are PAID to be nice to you. Look them in the eyes and strike a conversation. You will see how easy it is.

Once you learn the skill of starting a conversation with strangers, your life is never going to be the same. You will be able to feel at home wherever you go - simply because you know how to talk to people you never met.

Try it.
It feels fantastic!

The First Date Conversation

No Comment - Post a comment

Live Love Advice - Forecasts, Readings, Insights
The most dreaded thing during first dates, aside from choosing what top would go best with which pants, is what to say on your first real eye-to-eye conversation. You can’t really help it when you turn all giddy on first dates – it’s a natural thing.

There’s only one rule to first date conversations – don’t make a fool of yourself. Stop being overly anxious and suppress all signs of nervousness – appear relaxed, confident and at ease. Get the thought of rejection out of your head and avoid negative speculations. Think good thoughts, this can also help you exude a positive aura that always adds charm to your personality.

Silence can be your worst enemy on first dates, it makes me cringe just thinking about it. It can make one jump into the brink of nervousness and say things that you wish you hadn’t said. If you think the conversation will lead to some dead air, you can make little distractions like slowly sipping your drink. This would give you those precious split seconds to think of something creative to say to keep the conversation flowing smoothly.

There are a number of great subjects that can jumpstart a conversation. Make a quick observation of the person you are dating – if she’s the intellectual type, current events can be a good topic to start with. Talk about your present jobs and how happy or discontented you are with your career. Along that line you can also talk about your past schools and funny experiences you might want to share. Ask your date about her hobbies and what interests her. Always add some comments or a follow-up question to keep the conversation moving forward.

Those popular “what’s-your-favorite?” questions shouldn’t be missed. You can really get to know a person’s personal taste with this type of question. Since everyone generally loves traveling, you can also talk about your past leisure trips and some of the vacation spots you fancy – of course, your date would share his or her own thoughts of a dream holiday as well, and who knows, you might even end up having a vacation together.

One can tell a good date from a bad date on the basis of how the conversation on your first date went. Be prepared and have a mental list of the possible things you can talk about. The key to a successful first date is to be yourself – and as long as you can do that, everything else will follow.

Conversation Secrets

No Comment - Post a comment

Making successful small talk with someone you've just met isn't rocket science, but it does demand more effort than tossing out a tired opening line.

The added pressure of a social situation, a date, a party, an encounter at a singles club may tie your tongue into knots. That's because over at the end of the bar sits a 500-pound gorilla named Sex who's difficult to disregard.

During my days as a Playboy magazine receptionist, I chatted up everyone who walked in the door. That gorilla was a permanent resident at Playboy, but I learned to ignore him (Get thee behind me, Simian!) and concentrate on the person at hand. If you show that you are interested, you'll be surprised how quickly people open up.

To get the ball rolling, here are five practical principles for starting a conversation when you don't know what to say.

1. Flattery will get you everywhere. Make with the compliments to begin on a positive note. People are inclined to think well of you if you indicate you think well of them. The trick is picking out what to compliment. Good: Better, "You have such lovely long fingers. Do you play an instrument?" Bad: "Nice rack." That one will bring the gorilla into your threesome before you're even a twosome.

2. Props. Women work hard choosing their accessories, and anyone who notices wins points. "Those shoes are sensational. Are they comfortable?"

Check out a guy's tie, glasses and watch. Look at his feet. I have a mild-mannered cousin who indulges himself by choosing socks with wild patterns. Always carry a book or newspaper. Then, if your new acquaintance doesn't have anything obvious to remark on, you have, "Have you read this?"

3. Redirection. Everyone who walked into the Playboy magazine office had business of some kind on his or her mind. My challenge was to find out what he or she did for relaxation. People love to share their enthusiasm for their hobbies. If you meet someone jogging, see if you can spark some shoptalk. Try to discover what is not obvious - the mind in the sexy blonde, the animal in the geek.

4. Ask more than yes/no questions. A question demands a response, which is the essence of conversational give-and-take. But a yes/no query can bog you down in a monosyllables. Think like a reporter: Ask who, what, when, where and why. Instead of, "Did you see the latest Bruce Willis movie?" try, "What did you think of it?"

5. Listen, really listen, to the other person. Shy people who have trouble making conversation are so anxious about what they are going to say next that they don't listen to what the other person says. Every answer to your intriguing questions opens up new conversational avenues to explore. Follow up on those leads. As an added bonus, the more you concentrate on the other person, the less your palms will sweat, the fewer words for you to stumble over. And your new acquaintance is bound to be charmed by your astute appreciation of his or her own sterling qualities.

Remember the old adage, you are what you eat? The simplest magical ritual that you can do is to cut open a fruit or vegetable and eat it while thinking of your magical intention. Below is a compilation of common foods and their metaphysical associations.

To do that, you've got to practice by talking to women a LOT.

For every minute you spend reading or theorizing about women,
spend ten minutes actually INTERACTING with women in the REAL
world.

All the theory in the world is useless if you can't even get
the basic guts to approach a woman.

Get your butt out there and do it and realize that REAL
INTERACTION is the lifeblood of this "game" called
learning how to att.ract women.

Your goal in the beginning should just be to get COMFORTABLE
talking to women a LOT.

Just chat your butt off.

It's really no biggie.

Focus on your CHAT, on your voice tonality sounding
passionate and powerful and fun; not boring, and focus
on having conversations that are INTERESTING.

If you think you're passed that, then try to also
project a certain amount of your se.xual state by actually
thinking se.xual thoughts.

This way, all the tips you read will actually make much
more sense and also will prevent you from misinterpreting
the information.

You will have a real life CONTEXT in which to understand
all the material you read.

So make it a goal for the next month to talk to women
everyday, no matter where you find them.

Keep your conversations light and playful and avoid any
boring topics like the weather, your work, or any heavy
academic type material.

Bust on her jewelry or clothing or shoes instead of harping
on about the cost of parking spaces.

So what's with the playful thing then?

Well... EVERYTHING.

Stop being serious around women.

Most guys are way too serious around women and thus

all of which are ATTRACTION DESTROYERS.

Whether it's a fun teasing, or tickling her, or telling
her a funny story that really happened to you, or
role-playing with her that she is after you and you are
hard to get, all these are FUN.

Being playful and fun implies that you will also be fun in
bed, fun to hang around with, and also that you have your
life under control.

All this has "pulling" power in the same way a giant planet
cannot help but "pull" in any surrounding material.

Being playful also helps overcome her socially conditioned
fear of being labeled a "slut" for talking to you, or for
getting physical with you, etc, because in her mind, it's
all "playful" and not too serious.

Playful is not just about what you say, it's your
expressions on your face, it's your voice, it's your choice
of style, it's where you choose to hang out.

See, if you don't understand how women are wired and
how the dating process works, then almost every 'logical'
thing you do; things you ASSUME might score you points with
your woman will NOT work.

It's a whole new 'world' out there in the dating
scene right now, it's far more complicated than it has ever
been and everything you were taught on dating by the media,
your parents, friends, etc in past just won't flat out work
anymore.

I'm not joking.

CONVERSATION TIP: TELL HER STORY

No Comment - Post a comment

A lot of times my friends notice me talking with beautiful women whenever we go out and they always ask me, what do you say to them, how do you spark a conversation?

Okay, it's very simple. I tell them stories. Who doesn't like stories, right? So I guess your wondering what kind of stories to tell them.

I prefer comical stories. With that in mind, you need to decide what story you want to tell. When I approach women, I like to tell them stories about how I got on the wrong bus last week, how I drank too much at this party in college and what happened, when I slipped on some ice and fell in public, etc. Just make sure that it's something funny and something they can relate to.

By the time I finish telling my story the lady is usually laughing so hard that she is crying. Nine times out of ten, they will follow-up with a story. But if they don't, I just ask them if that has ever happened to them before.

The goal is to tell them a story and then let them tell you a story (women have a lot of those). The next thing you know, twenty minutes just flew by and the both of you are enjoying each other's company.

What you have to realize is that women like something different. Most guys approach women with the intent of getting the girl's number and are very obvious about it. Now of course we want the number, but since DJs are more "seasoned" at this game, we do it in a tasteful, creative manner.

The best thing about this is that it's extremely easy and everyone has at least one funny story to tell.
